The Holistic Factor was founded in 1996 as a professional counselling service by Beverley James Munk, following eleven years of full-time service with the NSW Dept of Health as an adolescent and family counselling specialist working in community health.

Prior to this Beverley had been actively engaged in alternative healing since 1975 after graduating as a practitioner of Bach Flower Remedies. She also studied the theory, practice and teaching of Yoga and ran her own school for some years. Beverley brings a wealth of personal experience, knowledge and training in various fields such as occupational therapy, herbal medicine, meditation, parapsychology, stress management, massage and allied health subjects. Her training in Reiki began in 1994 with Reiki Masters Denise and John Crundall and on-going involvement in personal development within Reiki continues to this day.

The usage of both Bach Flower Remedies and Reiki is an integral part of the service offered at the Holistic Factor. This includes a weekly group Reiki session involving other Reiki channels where a more intensive experience of Reiki may be experienced, as well as Reiki 11 absent healing.

Courses in the competent and practical use of Bach Remedies are also available as is professional consultation and supervision


Philosophy

The Holistic Factor is committed to offering quality care at an affordable cost to the client.

The services at the Holistic Factor incorporate tradition counselling coupled with powerful alternative healing methods. This linking of modalities aims to empower the client to gain a clearer perception of themselves in their world and of the problems they currently experience. They are led to an understanding of various options open to them so that they may seek their own solutions.

The use of the various alternative modalities available is clearly explained at commencement of treatment and is in no way obligatory.
